This Saturday, October 7, 2023, a pink wave invaded the streets of Bosroumois (Eure). In the middle of “Pink October”, a prevention month created to participate in the fight against breast cancer, 780 athletes took part in the highlight of “Pink Bosrou’month”: solidarity races and walks.

More participants than last year

After a collective warm-up led by Anne-Marie Benharoun, organizer of the event, 780 people took off, or 130 more than last year. Twenty volunteer marshals ensured the safety of pedestrians and the Randonneurs du Roumois association, with its experience, worked to ensure that everything went well.

The rest of the day, the activities, such as races or walks, were a great success. In the ephemeral village, we found archery, cake decorating, pottery alongside the care and well-being centers, the League’s self-examination stand, that of the sale of objects crafts and the refreshment bar. All day long, visitors walked the aisles. School children also participated in the commitment to the cause, many of them came to play thanks to the Mad’Games association, a fan of board games.

Already €12,000 raised

While the accounts are not yet fully established, €12,000, or €1,000 more than last year, have already been collected. They will be distributed between the Becquerel Center in Rouen, the Elbeuf Louviers University Hospital, the League Against Cancer, and the local association the “Maison du Restablishment Cancer”. “For six years, €127,000 has been credited to the fight against breast cancer,” says Anne-Marie. The next solidarity meeting will take place at the Francklin room in Elbeuf on Saturday October 14, 2023 at 8 p.m., where a fashion show will be performed by a dozen patients to begin an upgrade of self-image. Registrations can be made on the Bosrou’mois rose website.
