Desmont Harjendro AP, SIK, MT held the Head of Public Relations Badminton Cup Tournament, which was held at the Gorontalo Police Badminton Field, Friday (20/10).
In carrying out the badminton tournament itself, the Gorontalo Regional Police collaborated with the Gorontalo Open University, which was also attended by the Director of the Open University, Satriansyah S. Sos, M. Si and athletes from the Gorontalo Regional Police and District Police, as well as representatives of the media crew.

When opening the tournament, Desmont Harjendro explained that this activity was a series of the 72nd National Police Public Relations Anniversary, where it was hoped that this event could produce professional athletes who would later be able to bring a good name to Gorontalo, especially the Gorontalo Regional Police.
“The holding of this Badminton tournament is a collaboration between the Gorontalo Open University and the Gorontalo Regional Police. It is hoped that in the future sporting events like this will continue and not only focus on Badminton,” he said.
He further said that Public Relations will now celebrate its 72nd birthday, where the National Police Public Relations Anniversary will be on October 30 2023.
“As for enlivening the National Police’s Public Relations Anniversary, the Public Relations Division of the Gorontalo Regional Police has held several social service activities, in the form of blood donation, distribution of clean water and tree planting. “The hope is that through this activity it can help the community, especially in Gorontalo Province,” he concluded.
To the athletes, the former Deputy Director of Traffic for the Gorontalo Regional Police also emphasized sportsmanship towards the athletes.
“We hope that athletes will compete in a sporting manner, we should not make this an unclear event. In the name of a game, there must be a winner and a loser. “Therefore, we must be Legowo (accept it sincerely), to the best of our abilities,” he concluded.
