More than 500 boys and girls from 18 schools in Lleida, from first to fourth grade, participated yesterday in the 21st edition of the Miniathletics day organized by Paeria, through the sports department. The day included tests in 14 different modalities such as high jump, shot put, 40 meter dash, alternative games, wheelchair relay race, guided race for the visually impaired, marching and relays, pole vault, 40 meter gymkhana, long jump or triple jump.
This athletic day serves to inaugurate the 2023/2024 academic year of the two children’s sports programs organized by Paeria, the Escoles Esportives Municipals and the Escoles Municipals Específiques, which have about 1,300 registered children. Athletics, artistic gymnastics, swimming, mountain biking, chess, climbing, sport fishing, canoeing, badminton, skateboarding, tennis, badminton, archery and triathlon have been scheduled for this course. The mayor of Lleida, Fèlix Larrosa, accompanied by the councilor of sports, Jackson Quiñónez, attended this meeting at the municipal athletics tracks of Les Basses. The paer en cap highlighted the high value that this day has in terms of sports, education and “in the drawing of the city project on which they are working.”
