322 Players to Compete in Spanish Badminton Championship at Municipal Pavilion of Arroyo de la Miel

A total of 322 players will participate this weekend in the Spanish Badminton Championship in senior category that will be held at the Municipal Pavilion of Arroyo de la Miel in Benalmádena. The vice president and deputy for Sports of the Provincial Council of Malaga participated in the presentation of this event, Juan Rosas; the mayor of Benalmádena, Juan Antonio Lara, and members of the Andalusian Badminton Federation and the Benalmádena Badminton Club.

Rosas has pointed out that this is a “key event” meeting to understand the philosophy of the provincial institution in terms of sports and promotion, since with this championship “the province of Malaga, its economy, its image, its gastronomy is promoted. and its coasts, while its participants enjoy all the offer we have,” he stressed, and added that, thanks to this initiative, many of these participants “later repeat that visit, but now they do it with their family and friends and comment on how good life is in Malaga.”

The vice president has also highlighted the “great involvement” of the Benalmádena City Council to host top-level sporting events such as this badminton championship, in which a total of 90 teams participate, of which 10 are from the province. from Malaga. The age range of the players ranges between approximately 30 and 80 years old.

For his part, the mayor of Benalmádena has stressed that the government team is aware of the “broad potential” that this sport has in the municipality and the province. “Hosting the Spanish Senior Championship is very important for us,” he said, and thanked the Provincial Council for its commitment “to host this championship,” which will be “a benchmark that will benefit our municipality.”

From the Board of Directors of the Benalmádena Badminton Club, Eduardo Guerrero has emphasized the importance of institutions participating and making the celebration of this tournament possible, which arises from the idea of ​​”rewarding our veterans, who are the most important part of our club.” Thus, he acknowledged, “we have been looking for the option of hosting this competition for years, looking for events that generate a return for Benalmádena and the province because they stay overnight in this municipality and neighboring towns.”
