The 2023 ‘Golden Ball’ has already confirmed the first names in the ranking of 30 nominees, leaving only the top-10. The complete list of first-place winners has yet to be announced, but Vinícius Júnior is the only confirmed Brazilian and also has a chance of winning the award. The striker had another outstanding year at Real Madrid and caught attention in several aspects.

Among the other favorites, in addition to Messi, are strikers Haaland, Champions League winner with Manchester City, and Mbappé, runner-up in the World Cup with France. Current winner, Frenchman Benzema, currently in Saudi football, is confirmed in 16th place and out of contention.

A guaranteed presence in previous years, striker Cristiano Ronaldo was already off the list when the 30 best in the world were announced. Just like Neymar, who had little prominence compared to previous years. Later today, France Football will confirm who is the current best player in the world, according to the magazine’s criteria.
