2023 Asian Para Games standings after Indonesia wins fifth gold

Indonesia won fifth gold in Asian Para Games 2023 (2022) through Roma Siska Tampubolon who again changed the standings.

Siska became champion of the women’s J1 +70 kilogram class blind judo. Siska topped the women’s J1 +70 kg class judo group pool after defeating four opponents from Uzbekistan, China, the United Arab Emirates and India.

The victory over these four opponents was extraordinary because Siska always won with 10-0 points.

Siska’s gold is the fifth for Indonesia. Specifically for today, Wednesday (25/10), the medal Siska won was the second gold for Indonesia after Saptoyogo Purnomo’s contribution from the men’s 400 meter T37 athletics event.

Apart from the two golds, the Indonesian athletes who competed today also contributed four bronzes, namely the revelation of Retno Wulandari/Aulia Mahda from the women’s double recurve archery event.

Jaenal Aripin from the Para Athletics event, Men’s 100m T54, and Rahmad Hidayat from the Para Table Tennis event, Men’s Single Class 6, also contributed bronze.

Another bronze was presented by Tifan Abid Alana who appeared in the men’s C3 3000 meter individual pursuit cycling event.

With the addition of two gold and three bronze. Indonesia now has a total of five gold, five silver and nine bronze.

The additional gold has not been able to improve the position in the standings. Indonesia is still ranked 10th.

China is getting stronger at the top of the standings with 84 gold, 68 silver and 52 bronze. Meanwhile, Iran is still in second place with 19 gold, 24 silver and 14 bronze.

Uzbekistan edged out Japan in third place with a lead of two silver. Both countries have both collected 13 gold medals.

India is a country in the top five zone. Meanwhile, Thailand is in sixth place with 10 gold.

Korea pushed up to seventh place with six gold medals. Kazakhstan, Malaysia and Indonesia won five gold medals and ranked eighth to tenth respectively.
