Žala/Pūkis Dominates in Electric Rally, Claims Victory in All Nine Stages

The crews completed all nine speed stages in the vicinity of Elektrēni on Saturday, September 9. The total distance of the competition was 115.2 kilometers.

The crew of Žala/Pūkis started in this rally with a “Škoda Fabia R5” car and it can be said that it had no competition. He managed to win all nine stages and at the finish the closest follower Martins Samsons (Skoda Fabia N5+) lost more than three minutes. Roks Steponavičs (“Ford Fiesta N5 Evo 3”) took third place.

Seventh place in the absolute standings of the competition and second place in the LARČ3 group of the Lithuanian championship went to Emīls Blums/Didzis Eglītis. The Latvians had won the first three stages and at that time they were already 18 seconds ahead of the closest follower, the Polish pilot Tomoteš Abramovski (“Ford Fiesta Rally3”). Unfortunately, due to technical problems, Blum/Egliša’s “Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX” remained only with front drive, as a result of which it was no longer possible to compete for victory in the continuation of the race. At the finish, our team lost to Abramovski by 52 seconds.

It should be noted that the current overall leader of LARČ3, Marjus Vegele, crashed and retired in the fourth stage of this rally. Blum/Eglītis have great chances for the title of Lithuanian champions before the final stage. On the other hand, Žala/Pūķis won the overall competition in Lithuania for the third time in a row.

The last stage of the Lithuanian Rally Championship “Samsonas Rally Utena”, which will take place from September 29 to October 1, will also be the closing competition of the Latvian Championship.
