Created in 1881 for men, then open to women from 1887, the US Open is one of the oldest tennis tournaments in the world. This popular international event takes place in the United States, and more precisely in the Flushing Meadows-Corona Park municipal park in New York. After Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the Australian Open, this is the last Grand Slam tournament of the season.
Organized by the United States Tennis Association (the United States National Tennis Federation), the competition takes place every year at the end of August – beginning of September. And the 2023 edition begins Monday August 28 and will end two weeks later, on Sunday September 10, 2023. Last year, the tournament attracted 50% more viewers compared to 2021, which suggests a good audience for this year, knowing that the best will be present.

What are the rules of the US Open?
As with all other Grand Slam tournaments, there is a qualifying phase which takes place the week before the official start of the tournament. The best ranked in the world ranking have the privilege of being directly integrated into the main draw, as well as those who receive a wild card (an invitation). 32 seeds are designated in the singles tournament. The matches are won in two winning sets for the women and five for the men.
