Carvajal has even implicitly questioned Hermoso’s version – who declared himself “the victim of an aggression, an impulsive, sexist act, out of place and without any type of consent” – since he wanted to highlight that, for the time being, “he has not filed a complaint either”, as the Prosecutor’s Office has offered him. Despite proclaiming neutrality, the player merengue has made good the theses of those who, like Rubiales himself, attribute the campaign against him to a “false feminism”: “It is true that the subject has become so politicized that it scares you, it makes you afraid to have an opinion, it makes you afraid to say anything in which you could be wrong or that could be misinterpreted,” said Carvajal this morning. This has not prevented, however, from doubting that Hermoso is a victim.
The player’s words did not take long to raise criticism on the networks.
