The “Leipziger Volkszeitung” first reported the end of the partnership between the automobile manufacturer and RB Leipzig; the corresponding report coincides with information from kicker. Volkswagen/Porsche has been a partner of the Leipzig company since 2014, and this cooperation will now end in the summer of 2024 after ten years.

“Volkswagen and Porsche will not extend the sponsorship contract with RB Leipzig, which expires after this season. The club was informed of this decision in a personal conversation,” Volkswagen’s Sports Communication & Management department was quoted by the “LVZ”. The sponsorship goals of the car partner of the DFB Cup winner were “fully achieved”.

This news does not come as a surprise to the RB club management. The club has known about the decision for a long time and potential successors are already in sight.

There will also be changes in sponsorship at RB Leipzig elsewhere. Supplier Nike will also end the partnership after the 2023/24 season; according to media reports, Puma will provide Leipzig’s jerseys from next summer.
