Victims of fashion and crime, these are the most famous cases – El Sol de México

The designer of the Balmain brand, Olivier Rousteing, said on his Instagram account that more than 50 pieces from his collection were stolen, ten days before his scheduled show during Paris Fashion Week.

“Our driver called us to tell us that he was assaulted by a group of people. They stole more than 50 items of clothing from us,” denounced the 38-year-old designer in a message published on Saturday night.

The driver emerged “safe and sound” from the incident that occurred while transporting clothes from the airport to the Balmain headquarters.

“My team and I work very hard. We will work even harder, day and night, together with our suppliers, but this is disrespectful. I wanted to share this with you as a reminder to never take anything for granted,” stated the designer.

Balmain has scheduled its women’s fashion show during Paris Fashion Week on September 27.

Robberies that have made history in the world of fashion

As we well know, lovers of other people’s things are always aware of any opportunity that presents themselves to be able to act and get their hands on some substantial loot. And the world of glamor turns out to be an earthly paradise but them.

Several unpleasant events have been experienced by prominent famous people, such as Kim Kardashian, who in 2016 just a few weeks before Paris Fashion Week suffered a robbery and kidnapping inside the Pourtalès hotel on Rue Tronchet, where Kim had rented an apartment for herself, part of her family and her security staff.

It was at 3 am when a group of criminals disguised as armed police officers entered the hotel lobby to tie up the guards and then go to Kardashian’s room.

“I was in bed when I was woken up by rapid footsteps on the stairs that led to my room. I immediately knew they were coming for me,” he said in an interview with David Letterman on the program “My next guest needs no introduction.”

Through tears, she recalled how people dressed as police officers tied her up with handcuffs and gagged her and covered her eyes with adhesive tape.

“I didn’t know who the victim was, but I did know that we were after a succulent ring with an unusual diamond, very valuable and without any surveillance!”, says Yunice Abbas, one of the thieves in his book written in prison: “I kidnapped Kim Kardashian.”

And most of the public knows that through her social networks, the American model and businesswoman always shows off part of her personal life, including her eccentric pieces of jewelry.

Kim had collected four engagement rings from her three marriages. One of these is a 20-carat emerald-cut rectangular-shaped diamond. This was the second one that her husband Kanye West gave her. It consists of two pieces that cost around 2 million euros each and were designed by him in collaboration with designer Lorraine Schwartz. In total there were 17 people arrested by the police.

Currently, Kim Kardashian’s fortune exceeds 1.8 billion dollars between precious jewelry, clothing and properties.

Daphne Kluger and her diamonds

The actress Daphne Kluger never imagined being the inspiration for a film in which she was the protagonist, except that played by her counterpart Anne Hathaway, it is “Ocean’s 8” whose plot is based on one of the robberies of the century, a necklace of diamonds valued at several million dollars that Kluger wore at the MET gala, and which was stolen by a group of women who planned the big hit at one of the most important galas held in New York.

As these have been several cases in which Hollywood stars and other characters have not been exempt from crime, such as Victoria Beckham, who had a shipment of dresses stolen in 2009, which was already ready to be sent to a prestigious warehouse in New York.

Another victim was Lupita Nyong’o who, after the Oscars in 2015, had a dress covered in pearls stolen and valued at almost 150 thousand. The actress reported that the Calvin Klein creation she had worn the night before disappeared in her hotel room.
