US star Rapinoe wins last international match

Soccer star Megan Rapinoe won the last international match of her career. The USA won 2-0 against South Africa on Sunday. Rapinoe was substituted after 54 minutes in Chicago to great applause. When leaving the field after her 203rd international match, the now 38-year-old offensive player bowed.

Speaking after the game, Rapinoe became emotional and said the evening was “special.” The soccer player, also known worldwide for her commitment to the LGBTQ community, became Olympic champion in 2012 and won the World Cup title with the USA in 2015 and 2019.
