Mareček improved his own national record in the duel to 330 kg. He equaled his four-year-old maximum of 151 kg in the market, and moved the Czech record to 179 kg in the pitch.
The Italian Oscar Reyes won the duel, just like at the April European Championship in Yerevan, where Mareček was eleventh. Last year, the weightlifter from Boskovice took fifth place at the European Championships.

Mareček was the first Czech competitor at the World Championships in Riyadh, the remaining five of his representative colleagues will compete at the end of the week.
