WHAT HAPPENED? Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in the services of Joao Palhinha, Armel Bella-Kotchap and Trevoh Chalobah ahead of the deadline and have been touted as the most likely destinations for the trio. However, Bavarians failed to complete any of the three signings before the Bundesliga transfer window closed. Palhinha was retained by Fulham, Bella-Kotchap joined PSV on loan from Southampton, and Chalobah will stay at Chelsea.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Bayern are looking to strengthen their squad after losing the likes of Lucas Hernandez, Ryan Gravenberch, Sadio Mane, Marcel Sabitzer and Daley Blind in the summer, and despite signing Harry Kane, Kim Min-Jae and Raphael Gueirreiro, they may be a bit short on players to win a 12th straight Bundesliga title.
