The manager of the Toronto Blue Jays announced on Friday night following his team’s 13-9 victory over the Colorado Rockies that Danny Jansen had fractured a finger during the game.
The Jays catcher was foul-balled on the right hand while Nolan Jones was at bat in the bottom of the sixth inning. Alejandro Kirk took over later.
“It’s a weird injury and it feels like they’re all happening at once,” Schneider commented.
Shortstop Bo Bichette and third baseman Matt Champman were also placed on the injured list last week.
Barring a surprise, Tyler Heineman will be recalled from the Buffalo Bisons in the AAA.
