The defending champions Toritos de Cayey scored three runs in the twelfth inning to beat the Arenosos de Camuy 6-3 and tie the final series of the Double A Superior Baseball League at two wins on Monday before more than 4,000 fans at the Stadium Juan ‘Cheo’ López.
Los Toritos took the game on the road and responded after suffering two losses in a row for the first time this year.
With the score level after three rounds in the 12th inning, Kevin Luciano hit a home run with one on base to put Cayey ahead 5-3. Then, a solo home run by Christian Torres produced the sixth score for the monarchs.

Star right-hander Freddie Cabrera pitched six innings in relief to take the victory for the Toritos. He struck out six and stopped Camuy’s run production. He replaced left-hander José Carlos Burgos, who pitched the first six innings. Henry Iglesias lost the game in relief, with five hits and three runs allowed in two innings.
Cayey got Camuy up early in the same first inning with a home run by Luciano with a runner on board. In the third inning, a single by Ronaldo Camacho drove in the third score.
The first turn for the Arenosos came in the fourth act, thanks to a single by Víctor Claudio. In the seventh inning, the game was tied with a hit by player-manager Dennis Pérez and a sacrifice bomb by Luis Mateo.
The series continues on Friday at 8:00 pm with the fifth match at the Pedro Montañez Stadium in Cayey.
