These are the strengths and weaknesses of the German team

Three games, three wins and hungry for more. After strong performances in the preliminary round of the Basketball World Cup, the second group phase begins for the German men’s national team on Friday in Okinawa with the game against Georgia (10:30 a.m. CEST/Magenta TV). There is much to suggest that national coach Gordon Herbert’s team will survive the intermediate round and make it into the quarter-finals.

With results carried over from the preliminary round, Germany could qualify for the knockout rounds by defeating Georgia in Group K if Slovenia’s Luka Dončić beat Australia. A victory for the Australians changed the game. Then the duel of the Germans on Sunday with Dončić’s team would have a special meaning: The ensemble around captain Dennis Schröder could be eliminated.
