Théo Hernandez absent from today’s session
Blues left back Théo Hernandez was not present for today’s session, which began with autographs and selfies with the public (made up of FFF employees, sponsors and players’ families). Mike Maignan, absent on Saturday, is back with the group.

Henry: “I was in robot mode” (Téléfoot – TF1)
>> “The Hopes? I said yes straight away. There were a lot of discussions afterwards. I am French above all, proud of it and I always have been. It was logical, clear. You think of the Olympics in France. Is the goal gold? Yes. I thought of Aimé Jacquet, who made us believe that we could win the World Cup.”
>>”The first Marseillaise? It felt strange, I saw myself again in Lens for my first match. It brought back emotions for me. It felt strange, but I wanted it.”
>> “The victory against Denmark? Overall, we’re not going to be choosy but it’s just a start. Lepenant’s goal? I asked him if he did it on purpose (smile) . I am happy.”
>> “It’s a normal development. The first time you get fired, you really become a coach, you understand something, you start to understand that you have to delegate, you can’t fight with everyone. There are battles that you are never going to win. The Covid year changed me a lot, it made me human. At one point I was in robot mode, I was in my own thing. While I likes to laugh but it didn’t show. I was in killer mode, it was my way of getting into a certain zone. When I left for Montreal, there was Covid. We did hotel-training, hotel -match, I never went home. I stopped because I told myself that I could go into a tailspin by doing another year like that.”
Dembélé: “I have to take a step forward and score”
Ousmane Dembélé at the microphone of Téléfoot: “The record is perfect for the moment with these five victories. Is this the best French team I have played in? Yes I think, all positions are doubled. Finishing? I have to improve, there’s a lot of competition, I have to take a step forward and score goals. The PSG players? It’s good. We know each other well. Kolo Muani? Yes, he’s better, I I hope he will have a big match on Tuesday. My signing at PSG? I spoke with Luis Enrique, the president. They told me about their project. Coming back to France makes me happy. Everything is going well at PSG, we have a very good coach, I liked the president’s speech.”
Deschamps: “Kolo Muani is available for Tuesday”
Didier Deschamps on Germany-France at the microphone of Téléfoot: “It won’t be the same team. There are still training sessions. Kolo Muani? He was already fit on Thursday but he had only done one collective session. Yesterday he had a good session. He is available for Tuesday.” The selector confirms that there will be changes compared to the team which beat Ireland (2-0) on Thursday at the Parc des Princes.
Three absent from Blues training on Saturday
Mike Maignan, Théo Hernandez and Olivier Giroud – injured in the ankle, returned to Milan and forfeited the friendly match in Germany on Tuesday – missed the Blues’ training session on Saturday.
Maignan did some recovery in the treatment room. Théo Hernandez took a small blow to his calf but nothing serious.
Why Griezmann is a Blues legend, according to Riolo
Convinced that Antoine Griezmann is “underestimated”, Daniel Riolo places him in his top 3 best players in the history of the France team.
“Griezmann is almost good all the time, the matches where he is not good are rare. The French team is at the top with him. For me he has already surpassed Henry. If we remove an aesthetic symbolism, there is even with a match with Zidane, but aesthetic symbolism is important in football.”
Giroud withdraws from Germany
Hit in the left ankle and released in the first period against Ireland (2-0), Olivier Giroud underwent examinations which revealed nothing serious. But he returned to Milan as a precaution.
