On Saturday 9 September, the Yonex Belgian Junior Master Bronze Tournament will take place in the Sports Hall of Lokeren. The 132 best Belgian youth players compete against each other in singles and doubles.

“The Yonex Belgian Junior Master Circuit is a series of individual youth tournaments specifically for the age groups -10, -11, -13, -15 and -17”, says Nele Verhofstadt of the organizing Lokerse Badminton Club. “There are three levels: bronze, silver and gold. It is a regularity criterion with a final ranking and award ceremony at the end of the season. The youngest participant is only 8 years old. The oldest player is 16 years old.” Entry to the tournament is completely free.

The Lokerse Badminton Club is very popular and has an ever-growing number of members. “Badminton offers an engaging mix of speed, technique, strategy and excitement for players and spectators alike, making it a fun and engaging sport to watch and play. In the month of September, everyone in our club can follow two free trial lessons. The club offers playing times for young and old, from recreational to competition at the highest level,” concludes Verhofstadt.
