The Opening of a New Snowshoe Complex: A High-Performance Sports Infrastructure on a Tight Budget

The development of the strips of topsoil carried out by the company TDE is the subject of the latest work visible on the site of the new snowshoe complex which opened its doors on Monday. The occupation of the indoor tennis and badminton rooms, as well as the two outdoor tennis courts, by the sports associations imposes a timetable which will be determined over the coming days.

A high-performance sports infrastructure

The snowshoe center already appears to be an organizational success. “The large covered room accommodates two tennis courts, separated by a large net, which are themselves divided into four badminton courts. A large reception room with a small kitchen precedes toilets and showers,” explains Frédéric Perrosé, director of sports infrastructures.

Tennis and badminton clubs can claim large time slots but not only that… “We want to make the premises available to other associations. The investment is intercommunal aimed at local associations and we must respond as best as possible to everyone’s needs. »

The opening to sports clubs will result in the occupation of slots carefully established by those in charge. “We are going to look at a schedule which will take into account the various constraints,” specifies the director. Beaches will be reserved for UNSS athletics training. “School establishments such as middle and high schools will have the opportunity to use the snowshoe complex all year round. »

Expenses made despite a tight budget

The financial effort of the Mirecourt Dompaire community of communes lives up to the hopes of sports associations. “We chose to continue the investment project despite the increasing costs of energy costs which are weighing down investment capacity. The snowshoe complex was finally built,” recalled Nathalie Babouhot.

The amount of expenditure for the construction of the complex amounts to 1.352 million euros. State aid softens the bill: DETR (equipment grant for rural areas) and DSIL (support grant for local investment) and the participations of the Departmental Council and the Grand Est Regional Council have contributed to reducing the financial effort of the Mirecourt community of communes at 26% of the total expenditure, i.e. €351,320 payable by the CCMD.

It now remains to find the right balance of land use between the sports clubs of Mirecourt and its surroundings.
