The Latvian basketball team is included in the fourth basket in the 2025 EC qualification

The seeding of the national teams has taken place based on the FIBA ​​world ranking.

Latvia is in the fourth basket together with Ukraine, Croatia and Poland.

Spain, current champion Belgium, France and Serbia are placed in the first basket.

From the second basket, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary and Great Britain will be drawn in the qualification competition.

Montenegro, Slovenia, Sweden and Slovakia are placed in the third basket.

Portugal, Israel and the Netherlands are in the fifth basket together with Lithuania.

Romania, Denmark, Bulgaria and Switzerland were placed in the sixth basket.

In addition to Estonia, the seventh basket also includes Iceland, Finland and Luxembourg.

The eighth basket consists of North Macedonia, Ireland, Austria and Azerbaijan.

The teams from the first bracket will be drawn together with the teams from the fourth, fifth and eighth brackets in groups A, C, E and G, while the teams from the second bracket together with the teams from the third, sixth and seventh brackets will form groups B, D, F and H.

The winners of all eight groups together with the four best runners-up will qualify for the final tournament.

A place in the final tournament has already been secured for the four host countries Czech Republic, Germany, Greece and Italy, who will meet each other in Group I.

The games in the groups will be played in two rounds, with each opponent meeting at home and away.

The qualification matches will be played in three “windows” – November 9 and 12, 2023, November 7 and 10, 2024 and February 6 and 9, 2025.

The draw for the qualification tournament will take place on Tuesday in the Swiss city of Mies.

For the first time, the European championship will be held in four countries. Each of the organizers will hold a group tournament, but the final stage will take place in the Greek capital, Athens.
