The judge of the “Rubiales case” orders the dumping of the cell phones of Jenni Hermoso’s brother and the press chief of the RFEF

The judge in the “Rubiales case” has ordered the dumping of data from the cell phones of Jenni Hermoso’s brother and the press officer of the women’s soccer team, Patricia Pérez, who has admitted that she received pressure from the RFEF to try to get the soccer player endorsed Luis Rubiales’ version that the kiss was consensual.

Along with the head of communication of the national team, Miguel García Caba, director of the Integrity area of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), also appeared as a witness. Following his statements, Judge Francisco de Jorge has not modified his procedural situation, contrary to what he did yesterday with two other senior officials of the Federation now charged.

The judge in the “Rubiales case” had initially summoned today not only Miguel García Caba and Patricia Pérez, but also Albert Luque, director of the men’s national team, and Rubén Rivera, marketing director of the RFEF, to testify as witnesses. But after the statement of Jenni Hermoso’s brother and a friend last Monday, Judge De Jorge decided, with the endorsement of the Prosecutor’s Office, to suspend these last two appearances and summon both of them to testify as accused of coercion on October 10 along with to former coach Jorge Vilda, also accused of allegedly pressuring the international player to ratify Rubiales’ version that the controversial kiss was consensual.

“Constant and repeated pressure”

In the complaint for sexual assault and coercion that she filed against Rubiales, the Prosecutor’s Office charges Rubiales not only with a crime of sexual assault, but also with another crime of coercion later because, as stated by the Spanish international, “both she and her closest environment “they suffered constant and repeated pressure from Luis Rubiales and his professional environment to justify and approve the facts.”

Based on this “situation of harassment against the development of his life in peace, tranquility and freely”, the prosecutor in the case also attributes to him the alleged commission of a crime of coercion, punishable by a fine or imprisonment of six months. to three years.

Rubiales denied to Judge De Jorge that he or any senior RFEF official tried to convince Hermoso to change his version of what happened. After that appearance, the magistrate imposed a restraining order on the former president of the Federation that prevents him from approaching the soccer player within 200 meters or communicating with her “by any means” while the judicial investigation continues. However, he refused to agree to the seizure of his assets to face possible civil liabilities, as requested by Jenni Hermoso’s lawyer, and to force Rubiales to appear in court every 15 days, a request that the Prosecutor’s Office defended. .
