The Italian Individual Hunting Archery Championship arrives in Castiglione della Pescaia. Ninth edition for this event for the first time in the Maremma municipality from tomorrow to Sunday. The event is organized by the Gli Arcieri del Tiburzi association, with the patronage of the Municipality which has included the competition in the context of the European Sports Days.
This is an important competitive competition of national interest, recognized by CONI. Around 250 archers, including adults and children, who come from all over Italy, are registered for the championship. There are two competition fields, one dedicated to the “Hunter”-Technological type and the other to the “Hunting and Shooting”-Traditional type, which unfold in the Valle delle Cannucce area on a total route of approximately 2 kilometers with 24 stations of shooting for each field.
“We have received the handover for the organization of these Italian championships in our municipal territory – comments the mayor Elena Nappi –. Last year it was in Bevagna, when the eighth edition was won by our Chiara Pagliarin, and we will hand over the witness in Chioggia for the next edition. We are very proud to be able to host such an important sporting event, because it means not only valorising our traditions and spreading this sporting practice, but also making known the wonders of our woods and our territory”.

When we started talking about organizing an event of this kind, the president Aldo Paradisi was already enthusiastic about it – says Luciano Roscini president of Gli Arcieri del Tiburzi – and to remember the figure of the deceased Aldo too soon, we wanted to continue this project. Preparing an Italian Championship was not easy, but the growth of our competition field has been recognized at the highest levels and this is another reason for pride.”
