The German national basketball team beat the United States 113-111 in the last semifinal of the men’s basketball World Cup and qualified for the final. For the second consecutive edition of the World Cup, therefore, the United States will not finish among the top two: four years ago in China they finished seventh, after being eliminated in the quarterfinals by France.
It will be Germany’s first World Cup final, and they will play it on Sunday in Manila (in the early afternoon in Italy) against Serbia, who eliminated Canada on Friday morning by beating them 95-86. For Serbia it will be the second world final after the one lost in 2014 against the United States.
