The Cleveland Guardians gave a blow on the table in the MLB this Thursday by taking pitchers Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo López and Matt Moore from waivers from the Los Angeles Angels, joining their pitching staff from this Thursday to days before the start of a series against the Minnesota Twins that promises to be decisive.
Adding these three pitchers is a big deal for Cleveland, since they only take $3 million in salaries.
The Cleveland Guardians claimed right-handed starter Lucas Giolito and right-handed reliever Reynaldo Lopez on waivers from the Los Angeles Angels, sources tell ESPN.

The addition of Giolito could be important for the Guardians, who will now put him in the rotation alongside Shane Bieber and Triston McKenzie. The right-hander, who will be a free agent in 2024, is an interesting bet after going 7-11 with a 4.45 ERA, 165 strikeouts and 57 walks in 153.2 innings this season.
Remember that since there are no direct changes in the month of August, teams can place players on waivers to get out of them and leave the rest of their salaries to the organizations that claim them. The order of the teams listed in waivers is stipulated by their win-loss record. The club with the worst record will choose first and so on.
Matt Moore and Reynaldo Lopez were also claimed by the Guardians, per @JeffPassan pic.twitter.com/6IsVuGrEUr

Moore and Lopez, meanwhile, will go to the Guardians’ bullpen. So far this season they have posted 2.66 and 3.93 ERAs, respectively.
