The Castelginest Judo Club: Growing Stronger and Introducing New Activities

The Castelginest Judo club has just returned to school. Since its founding in 2004, it has grown constantly and today has more than 110 members, of all ages and levels. Interview with its president Georges Deneuville.

What conclusions can we draw from the previous season?

She was magnificent. The club offered judo classes for everyone, from the youngest to the oldest. The courses are taught by state-certified teachers, who emphasize learning basic techniques, but also the values ​​of judo (respect, team spirit, mutual aid). The club is dynamic and family-friendly, open to all those who wish to discover or practice judo. Some examples of activities offered: courses for children, adolescents and adults; internships during school holidays; competitions; activities for children… These activities allow judokas to progress and improve, but also to have fun and share their passion.

What’s new ?

The club offers new activities such as sports awareness for children aged 3 and 4. It is a fun activity adapted to help the child in his development. It uses gymnastic movement to help the child discover their motor skills. This season we are also developing Taïso santé, a recognized practice in the field of health sports. It is ideal for staying in shape thanks to varied exercises adapted to each person’s abilities and progress. The taiso exercises are very varied and include cardiorespiratory maintenance; improved endurance; muscle strengthening; improvement of balance, psychomotor abilities or general coordination of the limbs… From relaxation to flexibility, including endurance, the benefits of regular taiso practice are multiple and ensure a gentle sporting experience , easily compatible with active life. Adapted judo will also be offered, which consists of adapting the practice of judo for people with disabilities. If the foundations and bases of the practice remain faithful to the discipline developed by Jigōrō Kanō from 1882, certain rules are adapted to allow athletes to fully express themselves.
