The Carlo Lovari Trophy: A Showcase of Italian Basketball Returns to Lucca

The great men’s basketball returns to Lucca, as already announced, on 15 and 16 September, on the “Palatagliate” parquet, on the occasion of the eighth edition of the “Carlo Lovari” trophy.

Four of the best teams in Italian basketball will be on the parquet: Derthona Basket, coached by coach Marco Ramondino, coach of the year of the latest “A1” series; then again the Reyer Venezia of coach Neven Spahija, former NBA assistant in Atlanta and Memphis, as well as former coach of Saski Baskonia; Victoria Libertas Pesaro which played in the play-offs last year; and, then, Pistoia, a high-level Tuscan basketball team, back in the “A1” series after an exciting run in the last play-offs of the “A2” series. The four super teams will return to compete in one of the last preparation matches ahead of the start of the official season.

The eighth edition of the trophy was presented yesterday morning, coinciding with the inauguration of the new renovated spaces of the San Filippo park, in the presence, among others, of Patrizia Pecchia, president of the “Friends of Basketball – Luca Del Bono onlus “; by Fabio Barsanti, Councilor for Sport of the Municipality; by Valentina Mercanti for the Tuscany Region and by Teo Pirisi, aka Moneyless, the artist from Lucca who painted the places in Campino.

The trophy represents a showcase for the entire basketball movement and is the main event organized by the “Amici della Pallacanestro – Luca del Bono onlus”. All proceeds from the tournament are then used in charitable projects linked to the development and promotion of basketball. Such as the redevelopment of the San Filippo basketball court or the installation of the new parquet floor at the “Palatagliate”: concrete initiatives that aim to promote basketball and the passion for sport in the area.

25 thousand euros were also donated to support families with economic difficulties, in order to allow their children to enroll in basketball teams, in addition to continuous support for baskin, a sport that allows athletes with disabilities to compete on equal terms in a team with able-bodied athletes .

The complete “Lovari” program is also available on the event’s social channels. Tickets will cost 25 euros for a single evening (they entitle you to see two matches) and 35 euros for a season ticket for four matches. Free entry for Under 16s.

It is possible to purchase tickets in advance, until Thursday 14 September, at Ego Wellness (via di Sant’Alessio 1763H), at Ego City Fit Lab (viale Carlo del Prete 51), at Cremeria Opera (via Gaetano Luporini 951), at Caffè da Fede (via Santa Giustina 7).

During the trophy the “Palatagliate” ticket office will open at 4.30 pm. It is also possible to book your ticket by sending an email to [email protected] and collecting the coupon at the ticket office.

So, now, all that remains is to pass the word to the parquet, in a few days.
