The expectation for the Copa Libertadores semi-final between Boca and Palmeiras is very great. In this sense, one of the players to take into account will be Gustavo Gómez, central defender of the Brazilian team who is well known in Argentina due to his time at Lanús. The Paraguayan footballer was close to joining Xeneize in 2018 and had a strong phrase that heated up the previous one.

With two days left before the first leg at La Bombonera, the former Lanús told details of his frustrated arrival at Boca in the past.
“Destiny wanted me to join Palmeiras. Everything was prepared (with Boca), we were ready to sign, but when I went to sign the contract there were some little things that we didn’t like. It was still very close to happening, but thank God fate brought me to Palmeiras,” Gómez recalled.

After rejecting Boca’s offer, the central defender arrived at Palmeiras and became one of the most important figures. “A dream. The best five years of my career. We have made history. We have won 10 titles, enormous titles for the club and also for us. What makes me even happier is that we have managed to start a family here,” he said.
