No changes at the top of the WTA rankings published today. The Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka confirms her first place, ahead of the Polish Iga Swiatek and the winner of the US Open, the 19-year-old American Cori Gauff. In the Top 10, the Czechs Marketa Vondrousova (8th) and Karolina Muchova (9th) lost two and one place respectively. The most important progress is made by the Greek Maria Sakkari, winner of the WTA 1000 tournament in Guadalajara (Mexico) on Saturday, who rises three positions to sixth.
There are five Italians in the top 100. The Italian leader is still Elisabetta Cocciaretto: the 22 year old from Fermo is stable at number 32. Behind her, two steps back for Jasmine Paolini, now number 35. Thanks to the quarterfinals in Guadalajara, Martina Trevisan gains 13 places , which goes back to number 41. The round of 16 in Mexico gives four positions more to Camila Giorgi, now number 52, while despite the quarterfinals in Guangzhou Lucia Bronzetti, number 65, loses five places.
