Driessen suggests Jari Litmanen and five other names for Ajax’s new Supervisory Board

Valentijn Driessen and Mike Verweij have suggested a few names for the Supervisory Board of Ajax in the football podcast Kick-off of De Telegraaf. Driessen indicates that he is ‘very charmed’ by Marciano Vink and more names are mentioned.
Michael van Praag and Leo van Wijk have not yet been officially appointed, but will start working at Ajax in the short term. Van Praag will almost certainly start as chairman of the Supervisory Board and will therefore succeed Pier Eringa, who has resigned. Van Wijk will also be added to the Supervisory Board. The two 76-year-old directors must provide the club with administrative peace.
Yet the journalists expect that Van Praag and Van Wijk will not remain in their positions for long. “They are going to put things in order and then put together a new Supervisory Board,” says Verweij. “That doesn’t have to take long. That could be as early as February or March. Ajax must then come up with a gigantic strong Supervisory Board, of which everyone says: ‘Boom. This is it.'”
Driessen and Verweij then mention a number of names that they would like to see approached for the position. “I am very charmed by Marciano Vink,” Driessen begins his argument. “Or Siem de Jong, who will follow a career at Ajax. International: Jari Litmanen. If you see large companies that operate abroad, it is not surprising to have a foreign commissioner. He is Ajax in everything, does not want to be in the foreground steps and has clear ideas.”
“A name you also hear a lot is that of Demy de Zeeuw,” adds Verweij Driessen. “He doesn’t have a big Ajax background, but he is very successful in business. Or Dick van Burik. He has many large companies and played for ten years at Hertha BSC. And the easiest thing that everyone ignores: bringing back Danny Blind. I hope that Van Praag and Van Wijk will surprise us with a new Supervisory Board.”
