Successful Participation of Arcieri del Mare in Italian Country Archery Championships

In the Bergamo mountains of Schilpario, from 1st to 3rd September, the annual edition of the Italian Country Archery Championships took place, promoted by the Italian Federation of Country Archers, which saw the participation of three hundred athletes from all the regions to compete for the podium in the different classes and categories.

The Arcieri del Mare sports association also participated in the prestigious sporting event, with a large delegation of athletes who, once they had passed the selections, competed in two days of competitions, organized according to a new formula (battle-round 3d the first day, route the second).

The Clodiense company won three medals, namely one silver and two bronzes: respectively with Andrea Doria, second in the SEM-AS category (male seniors, historical bow), Mario Taufer third in the SEM-RI (male seniors, recurve bow) and Lorenzo Chieregato, similarly third in the SEM-LB (male seniors, long bow).

Once again the flags of the “06Mare”, i.e. the FIARC registration acronym of the Chioggia archers, were also held high by the other participants, authors of good placings with Franco Stravaganti, Massimo Trolese and Andrea Falconi, in their first participation in a Italian championship. Worth noting is the tenacity of the ever-present veteran Maria Rosa Doria, who has been the standard-bearer of the Sea insignia in the most important Italian competition for fifteen years.
