Stroll at the start in Suzuka after the Singapore crash

After his serious accident in Singapore, Canadian Lance Stroll is ready for action again for the Grand Prix in Japan. “I feel good,” said Stroll on Thursday in Suzuka. “The guys did a good job putting the car back together.” The 24-year-old lost control of his Aston Martin during qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix on Saturday.

The car hit the barrier of the narrow street circuit with great force and was thrown back onto the track. The left wheel suspension and half of the side box were torn off or destroyed. Stroll then decided not to take part in the Grand Prix.

“The most important thing is that Lance is okay again after his bad accident on Saturday,” said Aston Martin teammate Fernando Alonso. “We will try to fight back.” Aston Martin remained without points in Singapore for the first time this season. As currently fourth in the World Championship, the racing team is fighting for a better placement in the constructors’ championship, which brings in millions in bonuses. Ferrari has 48 points more, Mercedes even 72. Red Bull is in the lead.
