At Villa Fidelia and at the XVI Giugno sports facilities, many free activities to introduce children and teenagers to sport
Spello, 13 September 2023 – Spello is also part of the 140 Italian cities that dSunday 17 September will host the third edition of SportCity Day – Happiness in motion, the initiative which will involve thousands of children and young people throughout Italy in multiple sporting activities free of charge. The initiative, promoted by SportCity Day Foundation immediately found the support of the Municipality of Spello which has always been committed, together with the sports associations present in the municipal territory, in promoting the culture of sport and movement as tools at the basis of psychophysical well-being and a good state of health, but also of social aggregation, especially among young people. The activities will take place at Villa Fidelia and in the XVI Giugno sports facilities: throughout the day, children and teenagers will be able to try their hand at the various sports disciplines proposed by the local associations that have joined the initiative. With a view to the commitment to promoting physical activity as a tool for improving psychophysical well-being, the day will begin with an in-depth conference entitled “Mindfulness and Physical Activity in promoting Health” scheduled at 9.30 am at Villa Fidelia in which teachers from the University of Perugia will participate. The program of sporting activities includes guided mountain bike excursions and routes at Villa Fidelia at 9.30 am Spello MTB Cycling (info and reservations tel. 339.2460997; from 9.30am to 12pm and in the afternoon from 2.30pm to 5pm), introduction to bowling sport by the Bowling club Spello ASD (info and reservations 333.4242634 – 338.1070994), and from 10-30 to 11.30 Play Judo and Play Fight organized by Judo Kadokan Spello (info and reservations 333.1916511). There will be no lack of recreational-motor activities with structured and non-structured games, aimed at the little ones (3 – 11 years) from 10am to 12pm and from 2.30pm to 5.30pm by the Soc. Coop L’Albero Magico – Stella dell’Orsa Association (info and reservations 347.6720054). At the XVI Giugno sports facilities starting from 10 am there will be theoretical and practical PickleBall lessons led by Agrileusuretime (info and reservations 335.6880998) and artistic skating organized by ASD Artistic Skating Spello (info and reservations – tel. 339.1453118). Also at the sports facilities from 10 to 12 there will be a Football Quadrangular – “Little Friends” category organized by ASD Julia Spello Torre (info and reservations 0742.652676). The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Spello with the patronage of the Umbria Region and the Province of Perugia.
