This year too, the claim of the event is #forzaecoraggio, which characterizes the activity of the Giacomo Sintini association and which aims to be an incitement to face life head on, especially for the younger ones who are the future of society.

The event, in fact, aims to promote, in an active and fun way, the culture of sport, healthy lifestyles and solidarity with particular attention to children and young people.

The 2023 edition of Sport Village was presented during a press conference held on Tuesday 12 September at Palazzo Donini by the Director of Gherlinda Simone Mainiero, together with the Delegate of the CONI Provincial Committee of Perugia Roberto Sparnaccini, at sports councilor of the municipality of Perugia Clara Pastorelli, to the sports councilor of the municipality of Corciano Francesco Cocilovo and to Giacomo Sintini, volleyball champion and president of the association of the same name.

“Sport is connection, it is cohesion, it is healthy lifestyles and for this reason it is important to promote its practice starting from the youngest. – explained Giacomo Sintini himself – #forzaecoraggio, therefore, wants to be an invitation not to give up, in sport as in life, in the awareness that we are not alone. Sport teaches us to be a team, to show solidarity and to be able to count on others and this is a fundamental lesson for young people who are our future.”

The Sports Councilors of the Municipality of Perugia, Clara Pastorelli, and of Corciano, Francesco Cocilovo, also confirmed the support of their respective institutions for the event for its educational, as well as recreational, value.

“Initiatives such as the Sport Village are certainly important opportunities to promote sport and its values - underlined councilor Clara Pastorelli – especially towards the little ones, who thus also have the opportunity to practice different disciplines and choose the one they prefer, and then perhaps practice it at a competitive level.”

Councilor Francesco Cocilovo also held the same opinion, underlining: “Sport Village is a moment of healthy fun, entertainment for the whole family, but also sharing and education for our children who, as an administration, we wholeheartedly support. ”

CONI undoubtedly plays an active role in the organization of the event, together with the Giacomo Sintini association and Gherlinda, and with it the various sports federations. “We return with a record edition – said Roberto Sparnaccini, representing the Perugian Coni Committee – with 25 sports clubs and associations present for an extremely varied range of sports and the presence of qualified instructors. Like Coni, the promotion of sport and the values it represents is, without a doubt, fundamental, so we want to give special thanks to all the federations and clubs that have decided to join.”

Closing the speeches was the Director of Gherlinda Simone Mainiero who recalled the success of the event. “Sport Village has three souls, an entertainment, playful one, which is represented by Gherlinda, a solidarity one which is given by the Giacomo Sintini Association and a sporting and technical one which is represented by Coni. -explained Simone Mainiero- This is precisely what distinguishes the Sport Village from other similar initiatives and what still determines its popularity today. In the past we have reached 25 thousand attendances in two days and this year we hope to replicate our success, also given the high number of companies and disciplines present.”

Mainiero also recalled that from Sunday 17 September, Cinema in Festa, a national initiative promoted by the MiC with the Davide di Donatello – Accademia del Cinema Italiano, will also kick off at Gherlinda, as in all of Italy, which provides, until 21 September, Entrance to participating cinemas is 3.50 for all films.
