[성남신문=성남신문] Sejong Special Self-Governing City has completed the construction project of the ‘Boram Neighborhood Lifestyle National Sports Center’, a multi-purpose indoor gymnasium in Solbaram Waterside Park in Boram-dong, and will begin operation on the 26th.
Boram Neighborhood Living National Sports Center is a multi-purpose indoor gymnasium built in Solbaram Waterside Park, where residents of the 3rd living area often visit for walks and exercise, and can be used regardless of the weather.
The main facilities include 5 badminton courts, 1 volleyball court, and 1 basketball court, and auxiliary facilities include shower rooms and changing rooms.
Prior to opening, the city decided on the operating sports for each day of the week by reflecting the opinions of sports groups, and plans to gradually expand the operating hours in the future after pilot operation from 09:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 22:00 on Saturdays until December.
To use, you can make a reservation and apply through the city’s integrated reservation system. The usage fee is free until October, but will be converted to a paid service from November.
The city expects that the thirst for lack of public sports facilities will be quenched by creating a Boram neighborhood sports center.
A city official said, “With the creation of indoor sports facilities, residents will be able to use the sports facilities regardless of the weather,” and added, “After conducting a pilot operation, we will improve the operating system so that more citizens can conveniently use the facilities.”
Meanwhile, this facility was selected in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Neighborhood Living National Sports Center Support Project contest in 2019, and construction was promoted by securing 1 billion won in government funds and 2 billion won in city funds. Construction began in 2021 and opened this time.
