Ramadhan Sananta and Beckham Putra will definitely go to Hangzhou, China, to strengthen Indonesian U-24 National Team in the round of 16 of the 2023 Asian Games, Thursday (28/9).
This certainty was expressed by the Chairman of the National Team Agency (BTN) Sumardji to CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (25/9) afternoon. Sumardji said he would fly with Sananta and Beckham to China tonight.
“Yes, that’s right. Later I will leave with the children at 24.00, Beckham and Sananta,” said Sumardji.
The news that Sananta and Beckham would join the Indonesian U-24 National Team at the 2023 Asian Games was first revealed by Indra Sjafri. The Garuda Muda coach admitted that he would call Sananta and Beckham if Indonesia qualified for the last 16 of the 2023 Asian Games.
“What will I do when I know whether we will continue? I will discuss with the coaching team. Whether I will call up players to fill the two remaining player slots who are not present, we will discuss,” said Indra Sjafri after Indonesia was defeated by North Korea at Zheijang Normal University East Stadium, Jinhua, Sunday (24/9).
This statement was made by Indra Sjafri when it was not certain that the Indonesian U-24 National Team would qualify for the last 16 of the 2023 Asian Games. Indonesia then confirmed their move to the last 16 on Sunday night.
Rizky Ridho and friends qualified for the last 16 of the 2023 Asian Games as one of the best third ranked teams. Next, Indonesia will face the winner of Group C, either Uzbekistan or Hong Kong.
Sananta and Beckham were included in the Indonesian U-24 National Team squad for the 2023 Asian Games. However, both of them did not go to China due to different problems.
Sananta failed to join the team’s flight after Persis Solo decided at the last second not to release the 20-year-old striker due to the striker crisis in League 1. Meanwhile, Beckham has not yet recovered from injury.
