On the 17th, the Saga Ballooners (Saga City) of the Men’s B League Basketball Division 1 (B1) played a preseason game against the Daegu Korea Gas Corporation Pegasus at the SAGA Arena in Saga City and defeated them 88-83.
In the first quarter, new players Yori Childs and Daichi Kuzuhara scored, giving the team a two-point lead. Childs’ momentum continued in the second quarter. Yuki Mitsuhara made a 3-point shot, increasing the lead to 45-35.
The third quarter turned into a battle. They entered the fourth and final quarter with a seven-point lead, but they were caught up in the middle for the first time that day. The battle continued back and forth, but they did not allow a comeback and defended the go-ahead point scored by Reynaldo Garcia with an individual skill, winning the match 88-83.
The B1 opening match will be held on October 5th at SAGA Arena in Saga City. Prior to the other opening card, they will face last season’s B1 champions, the Ryukyu Golden Kings.
