Review: Testing Out the New Wilson Shift V1 Racket

Hello everyone. I’m Rubén Gil, you’ll know me from other reviews I’ve done both here on the Punto de Break website and on the channel. On this occasion, I am going to talk about Wilson’s new racket, the Wilson Shift V1. These have been my impressions with it, testing it on the track.

To begin, I am going to talk a little about the technical characteristics of the racket. The new Wilson, among its main characteristics, has a great flex and the key to this characteristic is both the lateral flexibility of the racket and its horizontal rigidity. This new technology is called ARC 3Dand what it allows us is to hit shots with a lot of spin, thus having the feeling that the ball stays longer on the strings and to these two characteristics is added that we also get good control of the ball.

What does this allow? Well, with the new Shift you can hit shots with amazing angles and maintain good ball control. Trust me, when you’re opened up with an angled shot, the Shift will help you regain ground and put a much more damaging ball back at your opponent.

Another of the innovations of this racket is the geometry of the frame. Designed in the Wilson laboratories, it helps us to have a great stability in the racket, which in turn allows us to hit the ball with force, achieve deep and safer shots.

Technical characteristics

Among the technical characteristics, it should be noted that the racket has a weight of 300gr (unstrung). Its string pattern is 16×20 and it has a balance of 31.5. In addition to generating power, it is a very manageable racket and this helps us to be able to hit shots with greater acceleration and have control of the racket tip.

Head: 639 square cm Length: 99 cm Pattern: 16×20 String Balance: 32.5 cm Unstrung Balance: 31.5 cm String Weight: 316g Taper system: 23.5mm Unstrung Weight: 300g

Tested on the track

After this brief analysis of the racket, I’ll tell you how things have gone with the set-up on the court, which is something very important when selecting the type of racket we’d like to have.

Do you want to know what it feels like to play with this racket? In one word: incredible. The feeling that surprised me the most as soon as I took the first shot with the new Wilson Shift V1 was sound and comfort who has the racket This racquet allows you to hit shots with a lot of spin and hit the ball with a great parable, generating many revolutions per minute, achieving the necessary weight for your opponents to play in an uncomfortable situation. It is a racket that allows you to play with a aggressive game with a lot of depth. In other words, it is the perfect weapon to push your rivals back, especially if they play close to the bottom line, and you can enter the court to execute your offensive game, closing the point on the net or dominating yourself from the bottom .

If we talk about the net game, as I said, the Shift is a manageable racket. It allows you to hit before unexpected situations, has a lot of control and in turn stability. This means that, against powerful blows, we can hold the ball and the racket makes it stay stronger on the ball.

As for the serve, we have to say that it generates a lot of power and, specifically, for the topspin serve, it is ideal since you get a lot of parable without losing control.

conclusions

I have to say that the Wilson Shift V1 is a racket aimed at those players looking for a aggressive game, with topspin and deep blows. Ideal for those who like to dominate the baseline game and dictate the points and need a racket with which to execute this type of game. It is a very good racket for those players who already have a high level of playwho have technique and experience.

I hope you liked it and if you want you can leave any questions you have about the racket in comments and we will be happy to contact you. See you soon with more product reviews!
