The sport of associated wrestling is in mourning, as is the Parral sports community, with the unfortunate death of the professor, Mario Domínguez at the age of 68 (1955-2023), after losing the last battle to an illness that He had been afflicted for several years, but always being a warrior in his time as an athlete and not to mention as a coach.

The great human being that Mario Domínguez was always, passionate about sports, since his beginnings as a judo athlete, was in the Oriental Club in the seventies, under Professor Guerrero.

He was always a person dedicated to the sport in associated fights, an excellent coach who gave his time to many young people, guided several young people from Parral to different events, state and national, as well as children’s and youth Olympics, with great results and medals for the Chihuahua state.

Professor Domínguez made a path to the judo blue belt; then he moved away from training a little and returning a little later to Judo Kan Parral, to be an assistant for a period of professor Andrés Martínez, from there his enthusiasm for judo was great and he began to give judo classes with the servers as an assistant .

In the years 1997-1998 more or less, the National Olympics began, in which through Professor Martínez, the Chihuahuan Institute of Sports and Youth, needed a wrestling coach for Greco-Roman and Olympic wrestling, there he met the Cuban coach, Jesús Tejeda, where he was training and preparing for what was the Olympic wrestling.

Mario Domínguez began to train young people in wrestling at the Municipal Auditorium Gymnasium, getting very good prospects, later he met another Cuban trainer; José Manuel Vichy, where he already fully dedicated himself to Olympic wrestling, but his adventures, prior to dedicating himself 100% to training wrestling, were in the disciplines of judo, karate, boxing, pentathlon and runner.

Before which, Mario Domínguez, had many outstanding participations with his athletes, giving the state of Chihuahua, much satisfaction with several Olympic medalists, where the teacher was always very enthusiastic and persevering in the sport, for which he was always preparing with many courses

He was also in charge of the Municipal Wrestling Committee, where he competed in various state events, he was in Guadalajara working and training with great enthusiasm, achieving very positive things, quite a character in this Olympic wrestling.

The teacher; Mario Domínguez, was a sports director who always raised his voice, unfortunately, he never had a space or the necessary material to train his athletes 100 percent, but in the face of that adversity, he always had positive results and medals with his athletes in both Ramas, which makes him one of the best wrestling undertakers in the state and the only one in Parral within this difficult discipline, where he left a great seedbed of wrestlers. Rest in peace.

NOTE: Professor Mario Domínguez, was always nominated for the Coach of the Year contest in the city, since it was instituted in 2010.
