Regional Qualifiers Held Across the Country for U15 Judo Categories

SANTO DOMINGO. The Dominican Judo Federation (Fedojudo) held the regional qualifiers in the U15 categories, in both branches, in different areas of the country with the participation of about 250 competitors.

The eliminatory tournaments aim to select the most outstanding judokas to form the teams that will be present representing their respective areas in the National Championship of the categories and which will be dedicated to Masahiro Takagi, Japanese ambassador in the country.

The qualifiers have been coordinated by the technical, refereeing and sports departments of Fedojudo. The best judokas of each division or weight will go to the selection of each region.

The Eastern region eliminator took place in San Pedro de Macorís, bringing together athletes from La Romana, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, La Altagracia and the host association.

The Northern zone tournament was held in the Duarte province, with representations of Monsignor Nouel, Espaillat, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Hermanas Mirabal and Sánchez Ramírez.

In Barahona the qualifiers of the Southern region were held, with judokas from the associations of San Cristóbal, Peravia, San Jose de Ocoa, San Juan de la Maguana, Elias Piña, Independence, Pedernales and Azua.

The North II zone, in Santiago, had the participation of delegations from the associations of Valverde Mao, La Vega, Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, Puerto Plata, Montecristi.

The Metropolitan brought together competitors from the Santo Domingo province and the National District, as its headquarters.
