Queen Margrethe’s Summer Tour Continues with Visit to Fredericia

The Danish Queen Margrethe spent her Friday in Fredericia. The visit to the city was part of her traditional summer tour with the royal ship Dannebrog.

Margrethe, 83, arrived at the port in the morning and was then transported by carriage to Fredericia Town Hall, where an official reception was held. There she was received with flowers, speeches and gifts. According to the Danish Billet Bladet, the Queen also received a unique gift. She received a pin with Fredericia’s symbol. The original pin is silver, but the Queen’s pin is gold and the only one of its kind. Margrethe immediately took advantage of it and pinned it to her pink outfit.

The Queen makes a number of summer trips every year, during which she pays various regional visits with the ship Dannebrog. In recent days she has already been in the cities of Vordingborg and Randers. The tradition started under Margrethe’s grandfather King Christian. King Frederik continued with it and Margrethe also goes sailing every year.
