Quarterback Keith Agba Leads Colts to Dominant Win with Five Touchdown Passes

Keith Color, CREC: Sophomore quarterback Keith Agba threw five touchdown passes, including a 59-yard strike to  senior Elijah Williams on the third play from scrimmage to lead the Colts to a 41-0 win over Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby.

Brian Augustin, Stamford: Scored on a 55-yard punt return during the Knights’ 27-7 win in Simsbury.

Will Attienese, Granby/Canton: Rushed 10 times for 61 yards, had a 66-yard touchdown reception, and threw a 76-yard TD pass during a 34-0 shutout of Ellington.

Alex Benevento, New Canaan: Had an interception to set up a touchdown, and rushed for a seven-yard TD in New Canaan’s 33-12 win over Windsor.

Maxim Copeland, Windsor: Caught seven passes for 128 yards and touchdowns of 35 and 10 yards during the Warriors’ 33-12 loss to New Canaan.

Jayden Cordova, Newtown: Scored on a nine-yard run with 7:28 remaining to give the Nighthawks the lead for good in a 21-14 win over Trumbull.

Ben Curtis, Darien: Returned a third-quarter interception 47 yards for a touchdown to give the Wave the lead for good in a 10-2 win over Fairfield Prep. Darien had four picks – Ryan Girlamo had two and Briggs McGuckin one.

CJ DiBenedetto, Southington: Completed 24-of-38 passes for 359 yards and three touchdowns and one interceptions in a 34-27 loss to Staples.

Aidan Dolan, Daniel Hand: Rushed 24 times for 148 yards and touchdowns of 31 and 16 yards in a 29-0 win over Xavier.

Vincent Forte, Granby/Canton: Rushed 11 times for 145 yards and two touchdowns, and was 7-of-13 passing for 205 yards and two TDs in a win over Ellington.

Johnny Gogas and Cooper Simmons, Pomperaug: Gogas carried15 times for 156 yards and two TDs, and Simmons carried eight times for 127 yards and two TDs in a 41-8 win over Harding.

Jeffrey Gonzalez, Cheshire: Rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on offense, and had eight tackles and an interception on defense to help the Rams shut out Glastonbry 27-0.

Rocco Grillo, Greenwich: Passed for 217 yards and rushed for a touchdown in the Cardinals’ 30-28 win over Maloney.

Malachi Harris, East Lyme: Ran for three touchdowns in East Lyme’s 28-14 win over Avon.

Tyler Hilgert, Guilford: Senior quarterback was 15 of 20 for 300 yards with five touchdown passes and rushed for another to lead Guilford to a 50-20 win over RHAM.

Machi Ingram, Ansonia: Rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown and also had a receiving touchdown in Ansonia’s 42-7 win over Watertown.

Gavin Janowski, Lyman Hall: Rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries in Lyman Hall’s 31-0 win over East Catholic.

Rowan Johnston, Trumbull: Rushed for 102 yards on 16 carries and had four catches for 41 yards in the Eagles’ 21-14 loss to Newtown.

Davien and Davion Kerr, Bloomfield: Combined to score six touchdowns and accounted for 44 points during the Warhawks’ 50-47 win at Masuk. Davion had an 80-yard run and scored twice, and Davien had four touchdowns, including the game-winner from five yards out with 53 seconds remaining.

Zahkeer Kerr, SMSA: Scored on a 60-yard run and completed 40-yard touchdown pass to lead SMSA to 32-0 win over Stafford.

Marcus Kiley, Plainville: Rushed for 178 yards and a TD on 17 carries in a 28-27 loss to Bethel.

Amir Knighton, Rockville: Rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on just four carries, all in the first quarter, and caught an 18-yard TD pass in the second quarter during the Rams’ 50-0 win over the Coventry co-op.

Austin Leifer, St. Joseph: Had a pick six in the third quarter to break a scoreless tie as St. Joseph shut out Notre Dame-West Haven 13-0.

Josh Macomber, Bethel: Quarterback threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for a touchdown in the fourth quarter in the Wildcats 28-27 win over Plainville, snapping Bethel’s 16-game losing streak.

Jayden Maldonado, Bethel: Returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown in the Wildcats win.

Jake Manning, Coginchaug co-op: Score four touchdowns – two rushing and two receiving – in Coginchaug’s 31-14 win over Haddam-Killingworth.

Jesus Martell, Maloney: Caught seven passes for 135 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Spartans 30-28 loss to Greenwich.

Bryan McLean, Derby: Senior captain led Derby to its first victory since 2019 with 210 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 12 carries, an interception, a recovered onside kick and intercepted a pass in a 45-2 win over Wilby. The win snapped a 22-game losing streak (including five forfeits in the 2021 season when Derby ended its varsity season due to safety concerns over a lack of healthy players). Derby’s win was 14-0 over Kennedy on Nov. 15, 2019.

Aiden McGrath, YOU: Threw for 209 yards and four touchdowns to lead ATI to its 41-0 CTC win over O’Brien Tech.

Matt McGuire, Oxford: McGuire scored twice, first on a 45-yard pass from Michael Dorosh and then on a one-yard run to lead the Wolverines to a 17-14 win, their first against Seymour since 2013.

Ethan Nedinsky, Maloney: Completed 22-of-34 passes for 234 yards and three TDs in the Spartans’ loss to Greenwich.

Erick Perino, Greenwich: Nailed a 42-yard field goal kick as time expired to give the Cardinals a 30-28 win over Maloney

Ejai Presley, Stamford: Completed 13 of 15 passes for 214 yards and two touchdowns to Black Knights to a 27-7 win at Simsbury.

Brady Ramsdell, Rockville: Was 8-for-15 passing with 192 yards and three touchdowns, including one to Lexington Hunter, who had three receptions for 82 yards. Rockville routed the Coventry co-op, 50-0.

Tyler Redden, Hall: Had six receptions for 73 yards and two touchdowns and added an interception and fumble recovery on defense to lead Hall to its 38-0 win over Norwalk.

Armani Reid, West Haven: Scored on a punt return and a rush during West Haven’s 42-7 victory over Ridgefield. His punt return covered 60 yards in the first quarter, and the rushing TD went for 43 yards.

Christian Riccitelli, Berlin: Quarterback accounted for three touchdowns to lead Berlin to 38-12 win over Bunnell, throwing for two and rushing for another.

Trevor Ridley, Guilford: Senior wide receiver had five receptions for 150 yards and three touchdowns in a 50-20 win over RHAM.

Soren Rief, Killingly: Rushed for 310 yards and five touchdowns in a 40-12 win at Windham. His performance included a 62-yard TD run, and two for 59 yards.

Drayvn Roberts, East Hartford: Rushed for five touchdowns, passed for two TDs, and had 340 all-purpose yards in East Hartford’s 52-32 win over Danbury.

Ben Roden, Northwest United: Quarterback  had five passing touchdowns and rushed for another to lead Northwest United over Platt Tech 52-8. Roden connected on touchdown passes of 50, 2, 8, 21 and 8 yards for the Workhorses.

Brady Rossacci, Sheehan: Ran for 151 yards and three touchdowns on just nine carries during a 54-0 rout of Wilbur Cross. His TDs covered 20, 10 and 39 yards.

Rykese Saunders, ATI: Had five receptions for 130 yards, including touchdown grabs of 48 and 51 yards to help ATI to its 41-0 win over O’Brien Tech.

Jack Shay, Daniel Hand: Tigers’ quarterback was 9-of-17 for 171 yards in the air during a 29-0 shutout of Xavier. Threw for two touchdown passes of 48 and 30 yards.

Caleb and Nathan Smith, Staples: Caleb threw TD passes of 51 and 16 yards to Nathan during Staples’ 34-27 win over Southington, giving the brothers three touchdowns in the last two games. Caleb passed for 182 yards and three TDs in total and also rushed for 103 yards and two more TDs against the Blue Knights.

Cooper Smith, New Canaan: Rushed for 53 yards and had a 71-yard kickoff return to set up a touchdown in the Rams’ 33-12 win over Windsor.

Stanley St. Victor, Bullard-Havens: Had five receptions for 112 yards and a touchdown on offense, and two interceptions, including a pick six on defense in a 14-6 win over Cheney Tech.

Damar Taylor, Stamford: Had five receptions for 125 yards, including TD catches of 58 and 16 yards, both in the second quarter of Stamford’s 27-7 win over Simsbury.

Trevor Thomas, SMSA: Returned an interception 90 yards for a touchdown in a 32-0 win over Stafford.

Isaiah Tripp, East Hartford: Scored a TD on 99-yard kickoff return in a 52-32 victory over Danbury.

Matt Tybor, Tolland: Had six receptions for 116 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also returned an interception 24 yards for a TD in Tolland’s 36-7 victory over Weston.

Kyle Van Deventer, Tolland: Collected three interceptions, including one pick six covering 50 yards in Tolland’s 36-7 victory over Weston.
