PSV will make an all-or-nothing attempt to strengthen itself with Davinson Sánchez in the last hours of the summer transfer period, writes Football International. The Colombian has to come over from Tottenham Hotspur. Several names have circulated in recent weeks, but it is now clear that Zeno Debast, Jarrad Branthwaite and Cesar Montes will not make their appearance in Eindhoven to undergo a medical examination.

According to the weekly magazine, Sánchez’s medical examination is already planned in Eindhoven, just to be on the safe side, but ‘that does not mean that there is already a deal’, it says. Club watcher Rik Elfrink of the Eindhovens Dagblad confirms the reporting on X, the former Twitter: “PSV is still pushing for Davinson Sánchez from Spurs. Wait and see”, he writes on the social medium.

Sánchez has long been associated with the people of Eindhoven, who appointed Peter Bosz as the trainer under whom the Colombian previously worked successfully at Ajax. Under Bosz, he earned his transfer to the Spurs after just one season in Amsterdam (in which the final of the Europa League was reached), who paid 42 million euros for him.

Sánchez still has a contract with Tottenham until mid-2024. The defender seemed to be on his way to Spartak Moscow earlier this summer, but he ultimately saw no point in a move to Russia. The South American kicked off Tottenham’s EFL Cup match against Fulham last Tuesday (1-1, 5-3 loss on penalties).
