Barça had a strong interest in the Dutch international before joining PSG

He Paris Saint Germain (PSG) announced this Saturday the sale to the Saudi team Al Ettifaq of the Dutch international Georginio Wijnaldumwho this past season had been on loan at AS Roma.

Wijnaldumwho is 32 years old, began his professional career in 2007 with the Feyenoord from Rotterdam, the city where he was born, with whom he played for five seasons and in 2011 he moved to another club in the Netherlands, PSV Eindhoven, where he was from 2011 to 2015.

The midfielder then went to the English league, first to Newcastle in the 2015-2016 season, and then in the Liverpoolwith whom he played 237 games over five years and with whom he won the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020.

Winjnaldum, who with his country’s team achieved third place in the 2014 World Cup, signed with PSG in June 2021 and played 38 games with the team from the French capital, helping them win the league.

In the 2022-2023 season he was loaned to AS Romawhich is the last club for which he has worn the shirt in the last year.
