Primoz Roglic announces he will leave Jumbo-Visma at the end of the season

Primoz Roglic returns to the Tour of Emilia this Saturday, two weeks after a successful Vuelta individually (3rd overall, winner of two stages at Xorret de Cati and Angliru) and collectively (three Jumbo-Vismas on the podium). The Slovenian has already won twice in the Italian race (2019 and 2021) and will still be one of the favorites against Tadej Pogacar, but that was not why he was the center of concern at the start.

The winner of the last Giro was in fact questioned about the rumor announcing his departure from Jumbo-Visma at the end of the season, despite a contract normally running until 2025. And Roglic (33 years old) confirmed the information, in a video relayed by his team on social networks.

“I can confirm for good that I will be leaving the team, but we prefer to give all the details after my races (at the end of the season), so I am here to race and I concentrate on that,” he said. he quickly brushed off. The identity of his new destination should therefore be known after the Tour of Lombardy, which will take place on October 7.
