Primoz Roglic will leave the Jumbo-Visma team at the end of the season. This was confirmed by the cyclist himself before the media minutes before starting his participation in the Giro dell’Emilia. “What I can confirm is that I will leave the team,” said the Slovenian cyclist when asked by journalists about his future.
The winner of the last Giro d’Italia and podium of the last Vuelta a España leaves the discipline of the Dutch team after a career full of success. Four grand tours crowned him (3 Tours and a Giro) in addition to a second place in the Tour de France. He has also won two Itzulia, two Tirreno Adriatico, two Tour de Romandie, a Paris Nice, a Dauphine and a Volta a Catalunya, as well as a Liege with the yellow colors of the Jumbo.
The emergence of the figure of Jonas Vingegaard as team leader in the Tour de France (he already has two victories) reduced Roglic’s options to compete for the French event with the colors of the Dutch team.
