President Habib Sissoko Honored and Promoted by International Judo Federation and African Judo Union

President Habib Sissoko of the CNOSM (center) was elevated to the rank of 7th Dan by the International Judo Federation and the African Judo Union

President of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Mali (CNOSM) and, among others, responsible for Zone II of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ACNOA), Mr. Habib Sissoko was well in the spotlight during the celebration in Morocco of the 60th anniversary of the African Judo Union (UAJ) of which he is now one of the honorary presidents.

In Casablanca (Morocco), President Habib Sissoko was distinguished by the African Judo Union (AUJ) for his exceptional services and his immense contribution to the development of judo in Africa. It was during a gala organized last Wednesday (September 6, 2023) on the occasion of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the UAJ. “This certificate of recognition from the UAJ is awarded to Habib Sissoko for his exceptional services and his contribution to the development of judo in Africa”, we can read on the certificate plaque.

Previously, President Sissoko had been designated “Honorary president» of the African judo body during the ordinary congress held on September 5 at the Mogador hotel in Casablanca. A legitimate recognition to a devoted servant of this martial art and dedicated to the development of the sport and the promotion of the values ​​of Olympism. He dedicated this double consecration to the entire National Olympic and Sports Movement of Mali and to the great family of judo.

And in the process, the president of the CNOSM was elevated to the rank of 7th Dan by the International Judo Federation (IFJ) and the African Judo Union (UAJ). Note that Habib Sissoko successfully chaired the UAJ from 2016 to 2021. The African Judo Union was founded in December 1961 in Dakar (Senegal) under the name of the Afro-Malagasy Judo Union.
