Possible Replacements and Injuries Shake Up Colombian National Team’s October List

Given possible technical decisions and injuries, there would be movements on the October list.

The Colombian National Team is already preparing what will be its games against Uruguay and Ecuador, valid for dates 3 and 4 of the South American Qualifiers. However, the tricolor team could have up to four significant losses due to injury.

Two of those four are already confirmed to be Yerry Mina and Jhon Lucumí, Colombia’s starting defense, and the absences of Juan Guillermo Cuadrado and Jefferson Lerma would be added to the two of them.

Given this, Lorenzo is already thinking about the players who would replace these four players due to injury.

Everything indicates that Mina and Lucumí would be replaced by Andrés Llinás (Millonarios) and Kevin Mantilla who currently plays in Talleres de Córdoba.

The defender Ambassador would be blocked by the Colombian coaching staff according to the latest statements by Luis Amaranto Perea while Mantilla has added substantial minutes with his club and would be called up by Lorenzo due to his good performance.

In addition, other players who are beginning to ask for a lead in the National Team is Kevin Castaño who could make up for the loss of Cuadrado or Lerma or an eventual loss due to a technical decision. The call of Harold Preciado also sounds, who is having a great moment in the Liga MX, a tournament where he is the current scorer and who would come to cover the lack of goals that the national team has.

Finally, the fifth player who could be called up by Lorenzo would be Nacional’s goalkeeper, Kevin Mier, since Devis Vásquez, who was called up in September, is not having a great moment at Sheffield Wednesday and may not be taken into account for the games October.
