Portuguese winger Vincent Pinto was suspended for two matches on Tuesday for kicking Welshman Josh Adams in the head as he jumped to catch a high ball during their World Cup clash in Nice on Saturday . Pinto received a yellow card, which was later changed to red when the action was viewed from the bunker.

The 24-year-old will miss Saturday’s clash against Georgia in Toulouse and then Portugal’s third group match against Australia, but will be able to play against Fiji on October 8 if he follows the World Rugby tackle prevention program .

His teammate Rafael Simoes fared better. The third row, cited for a dangerous tackle, was cleared by the disciplinary committee and will be able to face Georgia.
