This is a first in Plouaret: a day of festivities around the theme of apples will take place in the village hall, Sunday September 24 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The festival committee has put together an original and seasonal entertainment program.
A mobile press
A mobile press, the “Pressi-Mobile”, will be made available to local residents to press their apples and transform them into fruit juice, by reservation only. A minimum quantity of 100 kg is required, at a cost of €1.4 per liter.
You can come without apples: the committee will sell its juice pressed on site.
Various free activities will take place over the afternoon: introduction to drawing and still life painting in the company of artists Laurence Doyen and Maud Chaverneff, grafting and pruning workshop with nurseryman Yann Henry from the Jardins de Keranglaz and shooting archery at the Guillaume-Tell stand.
The rest of the day will be punctuated by tasting many varieties of apples, cider, thanks to the presence of the Cozmezou cider house, and homemade donuts.
Two competitions
All afternoon, the members of the committee will offer small meals, a refreshment bar, as well as sweets.

The apple pie competition requires registration in advance.
The tarts will be judged by the public and by professionals since the festival committee will welcome chefs Daniel Jaguin from La Maison de Marie in Perros-Guirec, as well as Fabrice Martin from L’Utopie in Plouaret. The finalists will receive gourmet prizes, while the competition tarts will then be sold with the coffee.
